School Sport

Fulham North is a sport-focussed school and with the fantastic support from our parent body we are able to run several Friday afternoon and Saturday morning school sporting teams throughout the year.

As a member of the South Australian Primary School Amateur Sports Association we participate in all of its sporting activities and are bound by its rules and regulations. Our school lies in the Airport Zone, which offers a strong and varied competition in a number of sports.

There are three levels of participation.

Tier 1

School based sport

Friday afternoon sport – interschool district competition open to all female students in Years 6/7. Sports include softball, netball, soccer, baseball and hockey.

After school hours sport  - interschool district competition - open to all students in years 2/7.  Sports include football, cricket, T-Ball, netball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, Auskick and Have-a-go-Cricket.

Knockout tournaments – State-wide Year 6/7-competition; selection will be based on merit at the coaches’ discretion. Sports include cricket, football, netball, softball, hockey and soccer.

Tier 2

District Representative Sports Teams

Students are nominated by their coaches and school based Sport staff to attend trials for their chosen sport. Carnivals and country exchanges are held annually.

School based for District Carnivals

The school competes in district carnivals in Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country. All students are invited to attend trials and selection is merit based.

Tier 3

State Representative teams

Through participation in district teams students are automatically selected or are offered a trial by the state and district coaches.  State teams play in National Competitions once a year in most sports.
